Terms of use

Homie is operated by 1243116 B.C. Ltd., Parksville, British Columbia, Canada. These terms cover Homie and homie.rocks, not the company’s other services.

What these terms cover

These terms cover three things: the homie.rocks website, where people play, watch and listen and where studios list what they made; Homie’s toolkit, plugin and connector, which a maker uses with their own AI; and the earlier Homie app for Mac. By using any of them, you agree to these terms. The Privacy notice explains information handling; reading it is not blanket consent to optional data collection.

Visiting homie.rocks

You can play, watch and listen without an account. The games, songs, videos and rooms listed on homie.rocks belong to the studios that made them and are served from those studios’ own sites. When you press Play, play a song or a video, or follow a link to a studio, your browser connects to that studio’s site. A studio’s site is run by the studio, not by us, and the studio’s own terms and privacy practices apply there.

We list what studios ask us to list. We do not make or host it, and we do not review a listing before it appears. Anything that looks wrong can be reported from the listing itself, and we can unlist or take down a listing.

An account on homie.rocks is optional and uses a passkey on your own device. Keep that device secure.

Listing a studio

A studio is listed only when its maker asks. To be listed, a studio’s site shows that it controls its own address, and gives homie.rocks the names, descriptions, links, cover and file addresses and credits to show. You must have the rights to everything you list, and it must be lawful. The directory limits how much one studio lists and how often it publishes, and we may decline, unlist or take down a listing, a shared part or a studio to protect people and the service.

What you list stays on your own site and stays yours. Listing it gives us a non-exclusive permission to show its name, description, cover, credits and links on homie.rocks, and to play its songs and videos from your site in a visitor’s browser. That permission is limited to operating the directory. To change a listing, publish again; to have one removed, ask through Feedback & help.

Making and running your own

What you make with Homie’s toolkit runs on your own accounts: Cloudflare, and any others you choose, such as GitHub, ElevenLabs, fal or Stripe. Those services have their own terms and their own charges, which are between you and them. Homie does not host your site. You are responsible for your site, its content, what it collects from its visitors, and what you sell on it, including refunds, taxes and the laws that apply to you.

Buying and selling

We sell nothing on homie.rocks: there is no paid pass, subscription or checkout here, and a listing has no charge. A studio may sell things on its own site, through its own Stripe account. That sale is between you and the studio: the studio is the seller, sets the price and handles refunds. Homie takes no cut of a sale; when homie.rocks sends a studio a buyer and that studio offers a referral share, homie.rocks earns that share like any other site that sends buyers.

A beta, as available

Beta features can change or fail. Homie is provided as available, without a promise of uninterrupted operation or that generated output will be correct. Keep backups of creations you value. These statements do not limit rights or guarantees that the law gives you.

Separate open-source and third-party software licenses continue to apply. These terms do not reduce rights granted under those licenses.

The earlier Homie app for Mac

The Homie app for Mac is a public beta, offered at no charge. Anyone may download and install it, and a household can play on its own network without an account or a code. Putting a household online, with its own Homie address and certificate, uses a single-use setup code or an invitation from another household. When homie.rocks offers setup codes, getting one includes an automated human check, and we may limit how many are issued. By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms.

Your household and connected services

An adult must set up and manage the household, decide who may join and supervise children’s use. Family settings help an owner manage content; they do not guarantee every generated or third-party item is appropriate or safe.

Connect only accounts and devices you are entitled to use. AI tools, media services and home integrations have their own terms, privacy practices and account requirements. Their charges are separate from Homie, including any paid generation you request. Review permissions and important actions; AI output can be mistaken.

Your content stays yours

This section is about content shared to homie.rocks from the Homie app; a studio’s listing is covered under “Listing a studio” above. You retain whatever rights you have in your inputs and creations. You must have the rights needed to upload or share material. AI output may not be unique or eligible for copyright protection.

When you choose hosted sharing or distribution, you grant us a non-exclusive permission to store, process, reproduce and deliver the selected content and previews as needed to provide that sharing feature. Infrastructure providers may perform those operations for us. This permission is limited to operating the sharing you selected; it does not transfer ownership or permit selling your private content.

You can use supported controls to remove a hosted share. Removal cannot retrieve copies other people already downloaded or recorded, and backups may not disappear immediately.

Respect people and the service

Do not use Homie for unlawful access, harassment or threats, child exploitation, malware, material you have no right to distribute, bypassing access controls, abusing hosted capacity or automating requests for setup codes. We may restrict harmful use or remove hosted content to protect people and the service.

When we remove hosted content, we stop its page, its shared game or its room listing, delete the files we stored for it, and record the removal, who made it and the reason. The content cannot be published again from your Homie while the restriction stands. As with a removal you make yourself, this cannot retrieve copies other people already downloaded, recorded or re-published elsewhere, and a copy already held by a content delivery network can still be reachable for a period after we delete ours. Our Games, Music and Video index pages are built in advance, so a removed item’s title and description can stay listed there until we next rebuild this site; its own page, its files and the list we give search engines stop immediately. If people are already playing a shared game together when we remove it, that session can continue on the devices already in it until they reload.

To report a rights concern, a privacy concern or content about you or your child, or to ask for a review of a restriction, use the Report this page link on the page itself, which brings the address with it, or Feedback & help with the page address and what the concern is. We review these ourselves and will tell you the outcome at the reply address you give. We do not promise a fixed response time.

Changes and your rights

We will give notice of material changes to these terms or the operator of Homie. A future transfer does not provide blanket permission for unrelated uses of your information; we will seek consent where required by law.

British Columbia law and applicable Canadian law govern these terms, subject to mandatory protections in your place of residence. Nothing here requires arbitration or waives mandatory consumer, privacy or other legal rights.
